What are Voyage Apparel Fabrics
The new range of premium dressmaking fabrics have been inspired by many of Voyage Maison’s classic floral fabric designs - the patterns have been minimised and revived with reimagined vibrant new colourways, that are timeless to suit all seasons. Made from the finest Pima Cotton Lawn, Voyage fabric is fine, cool and durable with a silk-like feel made from specially selected fine long staple yarn. All Voyage dressmaking fabrics are pre-shrunk too, so there’s no need to wash prior to making your project.

Voyage Maison’s signature watercolour style runs throughout their fabrics, with a delicate painterly approach, each of the designs translates the designer’s unique personal touch. Each Voyage Maison fabric design is hand drawn and painted in Voyage’s studio and then digitally printed onto natural cotton lawn cloth. The printing process is chemical free, using pigment inks and a heat set method to reduce the environmental impact.
What is Pima Cotton Lawn Fabric?
Pima Cotton Lawn is comparable to Egyptian cotton, similarly, this high-quality cloth has long fibres that are woven very closely giving great strength, beautiful softness and a silk-like feel. Voyage Apparel designs have been printed onto a premium quality Pima Cotton Lawn cloth, which originates from Peru.
Compared to conventional cotton, Pima Cotton is a higher-end yarn with a longer fibre structure, making it a beautiful luxurious cloth. It has had a 50% longer life expectancy than other cotton products too, giving you the peace of mind that it’s durable and will withstand the test of time. The texture is very lightweight, sheer and has a gorgeous, draped look that is perfect for the warmer months and equally great for layering. Due to its fine thread count, it barely feels like the fabric is touching your skin, despite it being 100% cotton.
Pima Cotton lawn has endless possibilities, and you can really get imaginative with this fabric when it comes to dressmaking. What’s even better is that this lightweight fabric is perfect for a beginner sewer as it is extremely versatile and easy to work with, the fabric doesn’t wrinkle easily and keeps its shape well.
What can Voyage Apparel Fabrics be Used for?
With its super soft texture, lightweight drape and airy feel, Voyage Maison Apparel fabrics can be used for a wide range of dressmaking projects. It is a great breathable fabric, perfect for making a lined summer dress, blouse, skirt or even luxurious loungewear.
The Brympton Lomond fabric lends itself beautifully to be made into a blouse with its colourful foliage pattern, available in three colourways. Brympton Flame fabric is on a dark base cloth where the leaves echo the shades of nature through rust, green and blue hues.
